Production: Since the mid-1970s, innovative and highly professional growers have been producing elder in the fruit cultivation areas of Austria. The painstaking manual work, outstanding know-how, and instinct and sensitivity of our contract producers allow the Styrian elder to ripen into a premium quality product. Excellent climatic conditions, the unique mother soil and select planting material form the foundation of our many decades as a quality leader. The growing area ranges from south-west Styria to the Seewinkel district in Burgenland. Due to the variety of altitudes (ranging from 250 m to 700 m) and the size of the area, the soft fruit cooperative is able to deliver excellent supply reliability. Our quick hand-over and logistics network guarantee the quality of the produce from the field all the way to the cold storage building. The elderflowers are harvested from end of May to the beginning of June. The elderberries are harvested exclusively by hand from mid-August to the beginning of October. Health effects The high flavonoid and anthocyanin content binds so-called free radicals, has stress-reducing properties and helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and even cancer. Areas of application: Our elder is produced in compliance with organic and certified near-natural principles and is exported worldwide as part of the following products.
